This is a great braising pan for a couple. Think shanks of veal or pork….maybe a lamb shoulder braised until it is falling off the bone with carrot, onion, a bit of thyme…red wine. It is a beautiful, old school crock pot, right?

This one was likely made in the early 1900s. We know it came from an uncle of the present owner who was an accomplished chef in Paris in the mid 20th century. Here is a link to his cook book…
